Integration Manager - How to point to an import file who's name changes?

Client has multiple integrations.  Txt or CSV files are saved to a Dynamics share within it's respective folder.  Sales for company A are saved to \\sqlserver\share\IM\sales\companyA\xxxxxx.txt and company B is saved to \\sqlserver\share\IM\sales\companyB\xxxxxx.txt.  The client is saying that in the past when she saved .txt from Excel the file name could be B103115.txt and the next month it could be B113015.txt and that she did not have to open IM and change anything about the Properties.  She runs her integration from a shortcut in GP.

The only way I know how she can successfully run the integration from her shortcut is by giving the txt file a generic name like CompanyBSale.txt and each month doing a save as and overwrite it.

This user has been running her integrations for years so I have no reason not to believe her, I just do not know how to make this happen.  Can someone help me?

RE: Integration Manager - How to point to an import file who's name changes?

So the client is using Integration Manager and it integrates a file not based on file name but the acknowledgement of a file being present in a specified location or folder?

I'm not aware of Integration Manager having this ability, I could be wrong though.

SmartConnect by eOne has this ability though, you can specify a folder location as the data Source and then it gives you the ability to move the file to a Success Folder or Fail folder based on integration status. This way only one file will ever exist in this location at the very most until the integration is ran. You can also schedule the integration to run so it's fully automated.

    It's very easy to setup.
