Voucher with main account from another company COA

Hi,

After period close for the year, while we transfer balance (opening transactions) for the year, we faced the issue "Function DimensionDefaultingEngine::insertDimensionSpecifer has been incorrectly called." and our technical team debugged and found the reason. It was due to 120 vouchers which has main account of another COA. In the below screenshot of the voucher, you can see the main account "99.999.001" which is related to an another COA. We didn't know how it happened. Please advise.

Thanks,

Karthi

    Hi Karthi,

As we have not posted these transactions, we can't tell you. You have to look for more information. What is the source of these transactions (e.g. general journal, sales invoice)? Do you have customizations? Using the Audit trail function you can find out when it was posted and who had initialized it.

As the amount is 0.01 it might be a rounding transaction. Please verify the posting type of this line and see if it might be related to a wrong setup of accounts for automatic posting or another rounding amount.

    Hi Karthikeyanb,

Do you know if this transaction might be related to an intercompany transaction, such as IC Purchase/Sales order or intercompany centralized payment?

The line you highlight above only shows a cent difference. Do all affected vouchers show this little difference?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Andre

Thanks for your reply. Source document for this transaction is vendor invoice and we have not done any customization. Yes, it is rounding off account transaction and we had checked accounts for automatic transaction, it has rounding off account from same COA.

    Hi,

Do you know what is the overall magnitude of this error? (5$, 100$....)

Can you identify this amount in the other company's trial balance?

Can you do a manual correction posting?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

Overall magnitude of this error will be $20 - $25

No, we didn't find any voucher and its amount in other company's trial balance

yes, we can post a manual correction but my main concern is to transfer the closing balance which I'm unable to do due to this error in opening transactions.

Are you aware of any data repair/manipulation in the past? Have you also checked LCS for possible known issues? I haven't faced this issue myself before.

    Hi,

With help of mentioned thread, we identified the account number of other COA. The solution mentioned in that thread was to skip the problematic account number, does it will be proper solution?

    Hi Karthikeyanb,

In your case the problematic account number is your 99999.001 rounding account, right?

Can you possibly retire (suspend) this account and setup a new one?

There is not guarantee that this resolves the issue once and for all but I would say that it might be worth trying.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
