Capacity Journals -- Operation No.

Hi:

In the Capacity Journals feature, I see that it's wanting an Operation No. from the Production Order Routing Line.

When I enter in such a number in the "Operation No." field of the Capacity Journal, an error message appears telling me that that number doesn't exist.

What's up?

Thanks!

The "Operation No." you enter in the Capacity Journal needs to exactly match a valid Routing Line for the specific Production Order. If it’s throwing an error like "doesn’t exist", here are the common causes:

Check the Production Order Routing Go to the Production Order > Line > Routing Lines.

Make sure the Operation No. you're trying to post exists in that list.
It must be released and active. Confirm the Work Center/Resource Matches The Work Center or Machine Center you’re using in the Capacity Journal must match what’s assigned in the Routing LineCheck for Typo or Formatting Operation Numbers are often alphanumeric (like 10, 20, 30, or 0010, 0020).
Double-check for leading zeros or typos.

    Routing Not Refreshed?

If the Production Order was created before the Routing was finalized or updated, it may have outdated routing data. Try going to the Production Order and using "Refresh Production Order" to pull in the latest routing details.

    Thanks
    Ramesh

Hi, As far as I know, Operation No. from the Production Order Routing Line is not required in Capacity Journals.
And the Operation No. is not displayed on the page by default. If you display it on the page, it will automatically filter according to the following conditions.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

The Operation No. is not required and not displayed by default.

If you want to select a specific Operation, you must first select a Released Production Order No. so the Operation No. can validate against the Production Order's Routing.
