Hi
I have a client that is very much careful not to open up IP-ports that is not necessary. So which ports should be available for the client, business connector and servers in general.
I know that AOS port 2712, 8101 and 8201 are configured as rules in the Firewall and that the client communicate via the 2712 port. But does the client use Service WSDL 8101 and Service endpoint 8201 as well and for what ?
How about the business connector. Does that use the same communication form as the rich client or which ports are necessary for components using BC ?
And applications communicating with AOS either throug web services (HTTP) or aos services (NetTCP) what ports should be available for them?
Best regards

I have the same question (0)Yes, AX client uses web services hosted on AOS in several cases.
Business Connector is basically an AX client without GUI; the way of communication is identical.
Applications communicating with AOS uses the ports used by AOS for services (e.g. 8201).
Don't forget that these ports are just defaults and if there were more AX environments, they would have to use distinct ports.
