When are you planning on creating your year-end wage file? You would want to do that first and then apply the tax table update.
after I do the tax update this way:
Tools->Maintenance->U.S. Payroll Updates->Check for tax updates
Is there anything else payroll year end related that I would need to do that the payroll year end update does?
I was not aware that for Canadian payroll the tax tables were kept locally. I know there were tax code updates which would require you to go to GP 2013 R2 but the tax tables should be kept in SQL and be only updated once.

Wish it were that simple in Canada - we dont want to spend all the time updating all the workstations, I would really like to have this for Canadian Payroll
Tools->Maintenance->U.S. Payroll Updates->Check for tax updates will get you the tax update data without any code update.
