Microsoft Dynamics AX (Archived)

Is nintex or k2 neccessary to connect different systems?

I'm currently in the process of purchasing AX and i have some more questions.  I was told by my supplier of AX that a separate oa/BPM might be needed.
I was surprised to hear that.

Is the AX workflow engine not enough?  And which 3rd party product(any and all are recommended) work well with AX?

Thanks

What features are you looking for? AX has a workflow engine, but it's obviously an ERP system and not a specialized process modeling tool. Whether it has everything you need, you need some customization or a completely different piece of software depends on your concrete requirements.

We are in the property management and construction business.

Need to be able to solve our

HR processes (new hires, data/form entry, employee reviews, KPI assessments)

Have a computerized business process for acquiring new projects, negotiating on them, bringing them into the system, doing work and making purchases on such projects (100 projects a month)

Creating processes to assist our property managers, especially in case escalation handling, returning deposits, and selling/releasing projects back to the owners.

Do you have any experience with other process modelling softwares?

AX includes a module for project management, but what you need is a proper fit/gap analysis. In other words, you have to map your own business processes (unknown to us) to Dynamics AX; then you'll see that there are gaps you have to fill by customizations or even additional systems. You can't replace it with a mere question on a forum. :)

Note that the Business Process Modeler from Dynamics Lifecycle Services can help you with the analysis.
