Can some one help me to remove the VBA package for Purchase order entry from GP Customization maintenance window. In this regard, I tried few steps but there Is an issue i am facing . Following is the issue I am facing:
2. Since I have Development environment too where no user was logged in so here I renamed the DYNAMICS.VBA file and then deleted the PO ENTRY FORM SHOWING UP UNDER MODIFIED in Modifier window . FOLLOWING ARE the screen shots . My question is did I do right or there will be an issue . Please note that we have customized Purchase Order report. It looks like there is no issue in the DEV environment but how do I remove this VBA package in the production environment.
Since I have another machine with DEV enviroment so here I deleted the modified form by using Modifier window
I am not getting how to remove the error in Production environment with out disturbing any user .What I know That the Dictionary Files are shared as you can see in the Dynamics. set file in above screen shot but I want to remove the package with out disturbing any user Can any one of you help me with more detail.
My 2nd question is DO i upload this update VBA package on every PURCHASE USERS COMPUTER??? or do I upload this VBA package on terminal server and just change the ALTERNATE/MODIFIED FORM Security in GP
If users are logged into Dynamics GP and GP is pointing to the forms and reports dictionary files because they are in a shared directory, you'll need to have all users log out of Dynamics GP and make sure no Dynamics.exe process shows in Task Manager on any of the machines with Dynamics GP installed on it, otherwise you won't be able to even re-name or move the current forms/reports dictionary files.
Once you get to that point, you may be able to go into VB Editor and remove any VBA and/or into Modifier and remove a modified window as needed.
An alternative option would be to go into the Customization Maintenance window, select only the forms/reports/vba you want and then export them into a new package file. Once you have that, you can log out of Dynamics GP, remove the forms/reports dictionary files into a backup folder along with the .vba files found in the GP directory(s).
Log back into Dynamics GP and import the new package file in, which will create the forms/reports dictionary files on the fly, as well as any VBA components you have in the package file.
