Hello,
Do you have any information on MDM (master data management ) with AX
Regards
Priya
Hi Priya,
There are several Master Data Management tools in the market.
The MDM in AX is built on top of DIXF and please a look at the MS docs sites as a starting point:
docs.microsoft.com/.../master-data-management-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax
docs.microsoft.com/.../data-import-export-framework-user-guide-dixf-dmf
You could provide us with some more concrete requirements what you want to achieve by MDM.
Regards,
QianQW
Hello Priya,
MDM is a very large area and if you ask five people you might get more than seven answers on that topic :-)
Can you provide us more information what you consider being master data in your company and what you want to manage exactly?
One you provide that information the community can point you to some solutions and how this can be realized in AX 2012.
Many thanks and best regards,
Ludwig
Hello QianQW & Ludwig,
Basically my client is planning to implement MDM. I am gathering information to work on that.
Which MDM did you use either Talend or IBM?
Have you ever customised functional side?
I had seen the links. After migrating, data does there any customisations needed in finance and procurement area?
There are some article and blog posts available about MDM and what to look out for.
Here is one of those links that might help you getting started.
Can you specify what Talend or IBM stands for and what do you mean by customizing the functional side?
Many thanks,
I found MDM tools Talend and IBM by googling other than I don't have much informaiton on that.
Please share the information If you know /used MDM for AX ERP
If you are a member of the AXUG then I would recommend having a look at the following sessions/presentations.
www.eventscribe.com/.../fsPopup.asp
If you are not then try contacting the presenters directly; they might be able giving you some additional materials on that.
Best regards,
Thank you Ludwig.
I am not the member.
If you are not a member then you can try approaching the presenters directly.
You can e.g. connect with them on linkedin or send them a message.
I am pretty sure that they will help you with the mdm issue and provide you additional insights.
