Dyn GP: How to print Financial Trial Balance as of specific date (and time)?

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by 420

We printed a 12/31/2017 balance sheet (in FRx) on 1/14/2018, but did not print the Financial Trial Balance along with it.

Now, when we print the Financial TB, the AP account doesn't match the financial statement.  How can we print a financial TB as if we were printing it on 1/14/2018?  We need to print a TB that matches the Balance Sheet.

Thanks!

For that, you will need to log into GP and go to Financial > Reports > Trial Balance and choose the Detail TB as the report. You can enter the cut off date. You can enter the date range, say 01/01/2017 to 01/14/2018 and insert that restriction.

Thanks, Mariano... but that would print a TB as 1/14/2018.  I think I may not have been clear in my questioning:  we need to print the TB that matches the *12/31/17* balance sheet (that we printed on 1/14/18).   If we print the TB as of 12/31/2017, then that would not reflect year-end adjustments that we entered since then.

Of course, don't we WANT to include those year-end adjustments?  One would think so, but under these circumstances we need to try to get a TB that matches that balance sheet.

To me, that's a real stumper... how to print a TB that "backs out" all of the transactions that were posted since 1/14/2018.

And that's where it gets a little cloudy to me... still scratching my head, but thanks for your reply.

    Hi

I don't think that is possible in the GL.  The only way would be to do a range on Journal number - and that is not available.  You would need to know which the last journal number was, but that could probably be worked out.

I think to get this, you may need to "create" the data using SmartList or similar.

Or run the detailed trial balance and "remove" transactions.

    Cheers

    Heather
