Hi,

I have created an alert on the customer form, based on the field credit limit, if it gets changed. I enabled the 'show pop ups', the alert is enabled  all customers . When I change the credit limit for a customer nothing happens. How the 'show pop ups ' should work? If I go to manage alerts I can the alert it exists and enabled.

Anything missing in the setup?

Thanks

Sam

    Hello Sam,

I don't believe you get an alert if you make the change yourself, this is how it worked in previous versions of AX under the guise of "why inform you about a change you made yourself"?.

Can you have someone else make the change and see if you receive an alert from that action?

    Hello Sam,

Have you enabled the batch jobs that make sure that you get alerted? Guess the change based alert batch might not be running. Can you double check that?

    Best regards

    Hi,

The batch job was not setup for the change based alert, I set it up and run the periodic>change based alert and now it is completing to 100%. I made sure that it runs every minute.

I went back and changed the credit limit and nothing happened yet.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Sam

    Hi Sam,

As I mentioned in my first reply, I don't believe alerts work when you are performing the change yourself, as I recall from AX2009 and AX2012, the change must be made by another user under the notion of "Why should you receive an alert about a change you have made yourself"? You wants alerts when others are making changes, not yourself. As I suggested in my first reply, can you have someone else update the credit limit field, as see if you receive an alert from that?

    Hi,

We tried it by asking other users to change the credit limit, however nothing happened. Any thought?

    Thanks

    Hi,

same situation, too. Maybe someone can share a partial screenshot to see what should happen. Any special further setup required for that.

    Regards Douglas

    Hello Sam,

1 min recurrence is probably not the best for a live Environment. Have a Chat with your DEV guys about that ;-)

Have you double checked that the batch Job recurrance is properly set?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
