Adding a crystal report to Solomon 6.5

ReportReport
Posted on by 40

I apologize in advance since I'm assuming this is a simple question, but I've spent good deal of time trying to find the answer to this question before posting it.  What are the steps I need to follow in order to add a customized/newly created crystal report to the report menu in any given module? Also; if anyone would please link me a tutorial for using crystal reports I would greatly appreciate it.

KB  903102 has most of the details...

If the report is a modified version of an existin g report, then you need to add it in the "Report Control Maintenance " screen.

If it is a totally new report, and it needs the ROI, (the interface that allows you to choose things like the period, etc.) then it's a bit more complicated.

To just execute it directly, foloow KB 887345. (adding an application )

So far as I know, there is no tutuorial that tells how to use Crystal with Solomon.

    Hi,

Please follow the below steps to add a new report to Solomon.

    1. Copy the RPT file to usr_rpts folder under Solomon root folder.

    2. Add the report details in report control maintenance screen.

    3. Add the report details in screen table. If report number is AB.CDE, then the screen number should be something like ABCDE00 in the screen table. You can do this using SQL/Screen maintenance.

    4. Give the access rights to this report (AB.CDE.00) in the access rights maintenance screen

    5. If you want to display this report under proper section, you might need to play with Screen Category maintenance.
