    Hi,

Have you checked the user's security if the user has permission?

    Thanks Anton for the reply.

If the user has system administrator role, the module is appearing on the left side but if the normal user it is not. When I check in the security configuration, the duties and privileges is not available but the tables are there. This functionality is a customize or integration to our other business application.

    Cheers,

If the module is custom, you may be looking for or missing some security roles. Which security roles does your customer module require?

In addition to what Anthony mentioned, if a developer has created new menu items, those menu items have to be added to security elements. You can then add those security elements to new or existing roles in the security configuration.

    Dear All,

Thank you for all your input, can you please send me a link or video how to configure this, I am just learning the security configuration in D365 F&O.

I want to create a new role for this, then assign the duties and privileges and I will assign the role to the user. Is this possible?

    Appreciate your patience and support.

    Cheers

    Hi RWagan,

There are two options for modifying the security in Dynamics 365 F&O. You can develop additional security artifacts and there is an option to configure them.

Firstly, you would need to understand the security architecture in Dynamics 365 F&O: Security architecture - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

Then you can decide to add a new role or add permissions to existing roles. There are pros and cons for development versus configuration. The development would be more robust but require development skills. My recommendation would be not modifying default roles, but depending on the required permissions duplicate an existing role and then modify it by adding or removing elements, or creating a new role. The same recommendation applies to duties and privileges.

There are two outstanding blog sites that talk a lot about security. You can check them for additional details.
