invoice print with transaction import question

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to explore the possibility of automatically saving multiple invoices via transaction import, as I have to save hundreds of invoices as PDF, and am wondering if I have to go through each and every one in order to do this.

Is this possible?

    Hello Acucchiaro,

The invoice would have to be imported and saved first, then I suppose you could use application server to generate the pdf files...I'm unclear if you are using AR or Flex Billings ...I'm more on Flexible billings, and you can send the print job to application server..or you can use a 3rd party application like Bull.zip that can save prints to a single pdf file (or separate) without prompting.

    Best Regards,

Hi Carolyn - thanks for your response!

I am referring to multiple invoices being saved as PDF files within Dynamics.  We get hundreds of payments per month, and the invoice for each payment must be attached to the bank statements to verify payment.

I currently have to export each invoice to PDF one by one - I was just wondering whether or not it was possible to do this automatically (with each PDF saved as the invoice number).

I do not see "Application Server" within our version of Dynamics.  Is this something that must be added?

RE: invoice print with transaction import question

    Good day  -

Than you for posting your question to the forum. Your question is confusing and I am not clear exactly what you are looking to do.

Transaction Import (TI) is a tool used to import (bring data into SL). You can use TI to import multiple invoices and they will save in SL.

In the next part of your statement you note  "I have to save hundreds of invoices as PDF". I read this as that you are printing your invoices out of SL and having to save hundreds of them as PDF. TI would not be a tool to "export" from SL. There is a built in service in SL called Application Server that can be setup to print invoices to a file (PDF) then automatically email it if needed. You can also setup a SharePoint site to have your invoices printed to a PDF file out on a folder structure there.

Now when you reference TI and these invoices I am presuming you are referencing invoices in SL. Or are you referencing invoices you are receiving and need to add in SL as Attachments?

    Please let us know.

    Thank you,

    Carolyn
