RAW MATERIAL FORECAST PURCHASE TOTAL

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone doing well. One of my clients is interested in calculating the FORECAST PURCHASE TOTAL for raw material. I know that you can generate the raw material forecast from the Finish Good Demand Forecast using Master Planning.

But, I am not sure If there is a cost sheet that can show the Material Forecast total for Raw material needed to create a finished good.

Let me know if this is achievable in D365 F&O or my client needs some kind of customization.

Best Regards,

Salman Gulzar

    Hello Salman,

Not clear on what you are looking for.  You talk about forecast and about total for RM used in a Finished Good.  Are you looking for the cost of manufacturing a finsihed good, taking in consideration the material and route?

Did you look at Costing Version to calculte a Planned Cost?  If you are not familiar with Planned Costs, here is a Microsoft Docs article on teh topic: docs.microsoft.com/.../about-costing-versions

    Hi Danny,

Thank you for the response. My objective is to see the Forecasted Purchase total for Raw Material, which is in reference to the Planned Purchase Order.

I have read the article you have shared, it is related to the production costing. I am more interested in finding the cost of forecasted raw material purchase which will be before the actual production.

    Hello again Salman,

Not sure what form you would want this forecast purchase total to take, but you may want to llok at the form below:

    pastedimage1647958968744v2.png

You can display the Planned orders by Item Group or Item, by Quantity or Cost, By period (Day, week, month, Quarter).

Beyond that, I am not sure exactly what your customer has in mind.

    Kind regards,

    Danny
