Does PAYMENT ENTRY effect CASH MANAGEMENT?

(0) ShareShare

AR was entering deposits/payments into “Payment Entry” which posted  into the customer account as a credit.  Then AR would go to Payment Application and apply the deposit dollar amount to open invoices.

Recently, management decided that entry into “payment entry” was not necessary only the Payment Application.

By not  doing the “Payment Entry” does this effect the Cash Manager by not showing the deposits?

Payment Application, when used to enter new AR payments, is essentially Payment Entry and Application, so Cash Manager is still updated properly.

Payment application batches update cash manager .The deposit date and information from the batch record  update Cash Manager.
