Why does adjustment of unit quantity is 0 cost, but it will still adjust unit cost price in Navision?

Posted on by 4,226

Hi Community,

I would like to ask why when the adjustment of unit quantity is with 0 cost, but the unit cost price is also adjusted in Navision?

    Hi, just adding some info.

    To adjust item costs manually:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav-app/inventory-how-adjust-item-costs#to-adjust-item-costs-manually

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.

You should check if you've this configured. If you're using FIFO and the report from above it's even triggered by a queue or manually or this setup isn't configured. You should be having problems with all items not only with one.

    Hi KTA,

The negative entries occurs in a journal, it is not saying that the Item is having negative value.

May I know how does the Adjust Cost -entry report looks like? How can I search for this report in the search bar?

    Thank you!

    Hi Igne,

    No i didn't.

Then you really need to do that before you investigate this case further. My guess is that the cost adjustment will fix the issue for you.

Hi, I don't think this should be the case with FIFO.
It is recommended that you create a new item, and then try this operation again in the Demo database.

    Hi,

Pls run "Item Adjustment Batch" for calculating Item cost. For doing this you will get more clarity.

Has the item allowed to have negative inventory? Have you run adjust cost -entry report?

    Hi Zhu,

The item Costing method is FIFO First in First out.

Will this be the reason for the negative value?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Can you please clcik on the Cost Amount(Actual) and show us the value entry?

I suspect when user did the negative adjustment, it actually captured the unit cost from item master but user didn't realise.
