Hi,

I wanted to know if there is any way for Dynamics 365 to auto-track the emails that are being sent out by the user using email client like Microsoft Outlook.

There is a way to track inbound emails automatically, but i wanted to know if there is any way to auto track emails sent  using email client.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Sudeep K,

Email messages that users send directly from an email client, such as Microsoft Office Outlook, are not tracked automatically. Emails from these email clients won't be created in Dynamics 365.

However, you can enable Tracking for Sent Folder Items now:

Automatically track sent folder items with server-side synchronization - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn

An administrator can configure the OrgDBOrgSettings AutoTrackSentFolderItems, which will enable server-side synchronization to go through emails in the Sent items folder on Microsoft Exchange and automatically track emails to Dynamics 365 by honoring the following email acceptance options in Set Personal Options.

     Important

    • This feature is disabled by default and you can enabled with the OrgDBOrgSettings AutoTrackSentFolderItems setting.
    • Enable tracking for sent items is only supported with a Microsoft Exchange mailbox.

    =============

For OrgDBOrgSettings tool, you can install and set as following documentation said:

    Click the Reports tab.

Click the Schedule Report option at the top right corner.

Enter the Scheduler Name (the one who will receive the mail) and Microsoft 365 Tenant.

Since we are dealing with outbound mail, choose the Microsoft 365 service as Exchange Online.

In the Select Reports option, choose the required report from Available Reports.

Schedule a time to run the reports daily and select in which file format you would like to receive them.

    Click Save.

    Hope This Works,

    Peter
