Allocating Lot Numbers and Reserving Stock at Sales Order Entry

Hi

In Business Central I am trying to allocate lot numbers and reserve stock at sales order entry. When I enter the sales order line, the Reserve field is coming through as never so it is preventing me from reserving the stock. The reserve field on the shipping tab for the customer is set to optional, as is the reserve field on the planning tab for the item. Are there any other settings that could be impacting this that I am missing?

Regards

Phil

    Hi Phil,

In case you want to Reserve Items, you should set at Item Card - field  "Reservation= Always".

Items that are set  with this condition,  you will automatically see the quantities entered at sales flows as Reserved.

Hope this can help you to move forward.

    Hi

I think that the issue is related to the fact that the sales order has a purchasing code of Special Order. As soon as I set this purchase code, the reserve field on the sales order line changes to never regardless of the setting on the item or customer.

Do you know of a way around this?

    Hi

Right, with actual design you cannot use special order and reservation:

Maybe you can give a try and reserve at purchase order level to the sales order, maybe this can do the way around

    Kind regards

    Jerome

    Hi Phil,

As mentioned by Jerome please try to go in this way:  Reserve at purchase order level to the sales order .

Hope it helps you to move forward.
