Show Aggregate of custom Contact Fields on the Account level

Ok so here's the scenario:

At the Contact Level, I created 8 custom fields of "Two Option yes/no" type

I would like to have 8 fields at the Account level that monitor the status of the 8 Contact fields on all contacts associated with the account and if any of them are a "yes" then Yes is reflected at the account level

Is this doable with OOB options?

RE: Show Aggregate of custom Contact Fields on the Account level

    Hello ,

This is not relationship issue . Primary contact and relationship are two different things. Parent Contact nothing but its an identity of the account or contact person of an account .

The relationship means the association , which means an Account may associate with may child contact .

You can achieved your scenario using custom workflow , in the code you can calculate the result and set it to the account field.

    Hope this helps

Ok let's forget a moment that there are 8 options, Let's say there is just one option:

    Ice Cream, Yes or No.

Each Contact has a check box for "Ice Cream, Yes or No"

Each Account needs a Check Box that reflects the aggregate Ice Cream selection of all of its contacts.  If even one Contact has a Yes, then the account level needs to show a Yes.  However, if all Contacts have a No, then the Account should show No as well; No is the default.

How can I create a workflow that can check a condition across multiple records? At the Account level, I can only reference the Primary Contact, not all Child Contacts.

Is this a relationship issue?  Rollup issue?

If youre running on change of all 8 Y/N fields it would pick up the change, so if you do something like

    If Field 1 = Y OR field 2 = Y or field 3 = Y, etc. Change Account to YES

    Else

    Change Account to NO

You would be able to get it that way.

Is there a way to verify that at least one Contact has a Yes and if not, change the Account to a No?  My concern is that if all Contacts change to a No, where once there was a yes, that it will not update the Account with the change

    Hello,

You can do this via a workflow - that can be created from the UI.

The account needs to be set as the primary account on the contact records.

The workflow should be triggered when those fields change and update the account.

    Hope this helps,

    Radu

If I am following correctly.  You could do a workflow on the contact level.  Have each field be a trigger (same workflow).  On change of them, do a condition to check for the fields = YES.  If yes change the parent account to YES.
