Updating Contract status from Draft to Active and received an error...

I updated a contract from a Draft Status to an Active status and received the following error: Contract Error The status of the contract does not allow this action.
When I closed out of the entity and went back in the record was updated to the Active status.  The error message appeared for apparently no reason, however I am concerned that it did appear, any reason why this would have happened?

    Do you have any processes (Workflow/Plugin) that execute on Change of State or Status of Contract?

    Usually that can be the cause of this type of issue.
