Dears,

Can anyone please clarify the real use of budget types other than original budget?

As when I create any budget type, i only find the original budget types available when creating the budget register entry!

I want to transfer the supply and forecast to the GL, what is the process i should follow?

Your help is highly appreciated..

Thanks,

Sherine.

    Hi Sherine Younan,

To transfer your supply forecast to the budgeting module you can make use of the sales Budget to ledger periodic functionality available under the following path: Inventory management/Periodic/Forecast/Update

When making use of this form, you have to select a Budget model, such as for example Budget model 2016/2017/2018...

Another prerequisite is that a budget type 'demand forecast' is setup in the budget module as this is used for classifying the different budgets recorded with the budget model.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

I managed to do the first part which is the Periodic transfer of supply and demand forecast.

But I got stuck in the link between the demand and supply forecast budget types and the previous step.

Can you please clarify how exactly it is done?

    Thanks,

    Sherine.

    Hi Sherine,

In the budgeting module open Budgeting/Setup/Basic budgeting and Setup a demand forecast budet Code.

Also ensure that you have a Budget model Setup.

Then start the periodic Transfer Job and once it is through open Budgeting/Common/Budget register entries/All budget register entries to check the Budget records that have been transferred.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Sherine,

Please also check that you have some budget dimensions setup and check that your Budget Code for the demand forecast has the 'default' Parameter ticked.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

It is ticked yes, but what do you mean by some budget dimensions setup?

    Thanks,

    Sherine.

    Hi Sherine,

Under Budgeting/Setup/Basic budgeting/Dimensions For Budgeting you have to select some financial dimensions such as the main account, cost Center, etc. that will be used for tracking the Budget amounts. Some financial dimensions must be selected there.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Sherine,

Have you managed to transfer the data to the budgeting module?

    Best regards,

    Hi Ludwig,

I followed all the mentioned steps above, but I am missing how will I check that they were transferred successfully, as after transferring from Inventory against a certain Budget Model, I open a new budget register entry but I can't assign the Supply or demand budget type that i created, only the original budget.

So should I choose any original budget, and then select the sales and COGS GL and here I should find the transferred amounts?

And if so what is the use of the supply and demand budget codes?

    Thanks,

    Sherine.
