Error Uploading Excel Template any time we add a column formatted as "time"

Posted on by

CRM 365 on premise .  We are unable to upload any excel template into the system if we've added any "time" formatting to any new columns.

We are attempting to download data to CRM including a date field, then create a new field in excel that extracts the time from that field. Any time we format this new column as time we cannot upload the spreadsheet back into CRM .

When we try to upload we get "an error has occurred. Try this action again/contact your admin".   We don;t have duplicate column names, but we do want to create a column in excel that derives the time from a downlaoded CRM date/time field.

Is there some limitation about doing this?  We are using named ranges not direct cell references.

I'm having the exact same problem.

I'm wanting to pull out the week commencing date for the Created Date on the Lead record. I can export the data from the lead, then create a new column to show week commencing.

When I try and upload the template I get an error....

Interested if anyone has a way around this.

We do have a time field in CRM. When we export this to excel it has the date and time In a single cell. We want this in separate cells.  I can’t find a way to do this that actually allows me to reimport this template and reuse it. As soon as I format any field as time in excel and try and parse our the time it cannot be uploaded.

    Hi,

Why are you adding the new time column in the excelsheet? Do you have the field in CRM which you want to update with this new time column?
