How do I test a Commerce runtime extension DLL in a development environment?

Posted on by 2
Can anyone share how to test a commerce runtime extension DLL built on .NET 6? I have already installed the Commerce Scale Unit by following this link: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/dev-itpro/install-csu-dev-env. Previously, when we built the DLL on the .NET Framework, we tested the extension by copying the CommerceRuntime.dll to RetailServer => Webroot => bin => ext.

Add your CommerceRuntime project, Channel Database project, and POS project to the ScaleUnit installer and build the project. Upon a successful build, it will generate a CSU Extension installer.
Open the project folder in file explorer and you will find the CSU Extension.
Open PowerShell in Admin mode and navigate to the path of the CSU Extension installer. Then, enter the command.
    K:\CommerceSDK\src\Extensions\ScaleUnit.Installer\bin\Debug\net472>.\ScaleUnit.Installer.exe install
    And press enter

After it completes successfully, navigate to the following path:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics 365\10.0\Commerce Scale Unit

You will find a newly created Extension folder. Open it to view your extension's CRT details.
