AutoTranslateKnowledgeArticle - Automatic KB article translation

Hi,

Has anyone got the the AutoTranslateKnowledgeArticle solution up and running? https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/dynamics365/no-audience/2016/03/14/automatically-translate-knowledge-articles/

The solution should provide a possibiliy to either automatically or manually translate KB articles using the Bing Translator API. Although it appears like a quite common demand to me, I could not find any alternative solutions providing this functionality.

However, if donwloading and installing the solution from Github, I get the following error message:

An unexpected error occurred from ISV code. (ErrorType = ClientError) Unexpected exception from plug-in (Execute): KnowledgeArticleTranslationSolution.AutoTranslationPlugin: System.Exception: The remote name could not be resolved: 'datamarket.accesscontrol.windows.net'

The solution seems to call an outdated URL to authenticate with the translation servcie (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6c146d61-9fa0-4046-ad0d-a01d7586784c/exceptioncould-not-resolve-host-datamarketaccesscontrolwindowsnet).

Before getting into the Github code, maybe someone has already fixed that or knows an alternative solution?

Hi Peter,

Unfortunately, it seems that only the one solution you provide can translate kb article automatically, so you need translate it manually.

And I try to download and install it, there is not any error appear in the environment, can you download it correctly.

I download file from address as following screenshot shown:

Then i import the solution:

But AutomaticKMTranslationSetting entity not appear under ‘service’ automatically after importing the solution, so I add it manually.

Go Settings > Apps to open one app designer.

Click pencil button of the site Map to go to Sitemap designer page to add the entity:

After Saving and publishing all customizations, the entity will appear in the sitemap, then you can do other settings as document provide.

Hi Leah,

Thank you for your quick reply. However the problems is the next step: if you enter valid authentication data and then you try using the function, you will get the error message from my initial post.

The issue is that the plugin is using an outdated address for the authentication and - worse - it seems to use Translator API v2 which - if I am not wrong - is going to be disabled in May 2021.

So, before rewriting the plugin, I was wondering if anyone had already done that or if there is any alternative approach to automatic translations.
