Visual Studio 2008 not showing Dynamics SL template when creating new project

I have Win7 Professional 64bit with SL 7.0 FP1, SP3 install along with Visual Studio versions 2005 and 2008.  The Dynamics SL template shows up for new projects in VS2005 but not for VS2008.  It appears the files have been installed into the x86 program files for both versions but 2008 is not showing the template.  Tried reinstalling SL to no avail.  Any thoughts on getting it to show up on 2008?

Thanks.

    Hi Tony,

So you uninstalled and reinstalled the client on the machine where you have Visual Studio installed?  When installing the client, it will install the template on both versions of Visual Studio.  We've never seen it not work.  Can you give any other details?

I can see the files in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\VisualBasic\DynamicsSL

    as well as

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\VisualBasic\DynamicsSL

When I go to create a new project, the template is not listed anywhere in VS 2008.

    Hi Tony,

I would recommend trying to un/reinstall the client again but first check here:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\SL\Applications\VT\VB

To make sure that there are files/folders as this is where the templates come from.  We don't have steps to manually place the templates however this may help if you'd like to try:

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../y3kkate1.aspx

Verified the files are in the VB folder for both 2005 and 2008.  Uninstalled the client, rebooted, reinstalled the client and sp3, rebooted.  Still not showing the template in 2008.  Tried the link provided by Adam and noted community post updating the devenv command change.  No change.

I just installed SL 2011 with SP1 and still have this problem.  It's a little more immediate now that VS2005 is not supported.  How do I get the template to display?

    Hi,

Copy the File DynamicsSL.zip and unzip in

    C: \ Users \ [YOUR USER] \ Documents \ Visual Studio 2008 \ Templates \ ProjectTemplates \ Visual Basic\

*In the folder there should be a zip file and DynamicsSL Folder.

Finally open Visual Studio - A new project - Visual Basic

At that level the template appear

    regards

    Noelius.

But you don't have a problem about FileNotFoundException, where ask for solomon.kernel was not found.
