General Journal Batch Approval - Renumbering after approval

Hello,
I have a general journal batch workflow enabled and when the journal batch is approved by all approvers, I need to change the document no. for the batch. So, I run the renumber document numbers function and update the document numbers but the problem is after renumbering system doesn't let me post the batch and pops-up an error saying /You cannot use Gen. Journal Line: xxxxxx,10000 for this action. The restriction was imposed because the journal batch requires approval./. So, I need to start approval flow again.

Is there a way to update document numbers without being asked for approval again ?

Thanks in advance.

My organisation has also recently come across this issue as a result of a recent update.

We currently have many journal creators creating General Journals in their relevant areas submitting their journals through to the Finance manager for review, approval and posting.

Is there a way to allow the permission to renumber documents in the workflow of General Journal Approvals?

Your approach is wrong as per the standard system if the approval is enabled then you have to make it approved each time you made changes.
either you explain why you need to change the Document No so we can suggest you the alternative or you should follow Shauna Langley's Suggestion

    Hi,

Is it because the No. Series has not been setup as below?

This should allow you to post instead of having to renumber the document no?

    Hope that helps,
    Shauna
