Demo Data Packages and Loading Issues

Hello all,

Long time Dynamics AX developer here. My company is moving toward upgrading from AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 and I have been tasked with loading the demo data packages into our 365 test environment. This is my first foray into Dynamics 365 and it is proving to be quite the adjustment already. We have not started formal training, etc. yet as we are still picking our partner. So my only resource has been google

I have been trying to load the following demo packages

Demo data 10.0.9 100 System and Shared
Demo data 10.0.9 200 Financials HQUS
Demo data 10.0.9 225 Expense Management HQUS
Demo data 10.0.9 250 Project management and accounting HQUS
Demo data 10.0.9 280 Credit Management HQUS
Demo data 10.0.9 300 Supply chain base HQUS
Demo data 10.0.9 310 Discrete Manufacturing HQUS
Demo data 10.0.9 900 Financial transactions HQUS

I am getting a variety of failures. I am loading the packages in the prescribed order so I am not sure it is a prerequisite issue? I have googled around and am just not finding much on how to diagnose what is going on or if there are typically this many failures loading the demo packages.

For example I have tons of failures loading the Discrete Manufacturing package where the error message is in regards to a missing item number.
