How to keep logs in AL coding?

Hello everyone,

How to write log statements in AL language. For example Log4Net is using for C#.net, like that is there anything available in for AL language.

    I am not sure about Log4Net but if we are talking about code changes history then we can use DevOps Repositories to store the code and we can check the history of changes.

    Hi Mohana,

    Thanks for your response.

    I want the custom logs in the AL coding, means I want to keep a custom log statement wherever I want in the AL coding, so that I can pass the required values to the log. Tomorrow if I get any issue, by seeing the custom logs I can easily find out how the inputs are passed and how the response was received. Like this I am expecting in the Business Central AL language.

    Doesn’t seem like an AL thing. I’d check if vs code has an extension that does what you’re asking for.

    You have to use telemetries to do so

    docs.microsoft.com/.../session-logmessage-string-string-verbosity-dataclassification-telemetryscope-string-string-string-string-method

    and logs will be ingested in your AI resources.

    Alternatively, you have to create a resident log process your own.
