Has anyone try in Dynamics GP18.4 have 2 dynamics database ?
This feature is what Microsoft call the "Tenant" setup for hosting partners, in order to avoid the setup of multiple SQL instances, you can name the system DB (aka DYNAMICS) with different names (i.e. DYN01, DYN02, DYN03, etc.. ) and create companies for each of those different GP instances. This way a hosting partner could serve multiple users from a single SQL instance setup.
Dynamics GP cannot have two different system databases and SQL Server won't allow two databases with the same name, whether it be 'DYNAMICS' or anything else.
You can have a 'DYNAMICS' system database for one GP instance and then another GP instance with a different system database name, held on the same SQL Server instance, such as for hosting partners, but that's about as close as we would get to that.
