Sitemap not chaning + Error message

Hi guys.

Suddenly the environment that I'm working for stopped working yesterday, and the guys that was working with me said that nobody did any changes on RibbonWorkbench. We were not able to login into the environment because this message was appearing:

Site Map Error
The customized site map could not be used because it is configured incorrectly. The default site map has been applied instead.
To resolve this issue, repair the customized site map and import it again.

I tried to login again today, and I can navigate normal but the Sales and Service modules disappeared. I tried many approaches(changes) using the OOB sitemap editor and also the XrmToolBox sitemap editor, but both didn't take effect on the environment.

Any ideas?

    Hi,

In the XrmToolbox did you try to remove your sitemap and instead put the default sitemap?

I tried this approach yesterday and didn't work. But few minutes before you sending your answer I tried again and worked perfectly. Also I don't know if we could have problems with this again because the Sitemap version is not the same as the environment.

    So, thank you for helping.

    Hi,

We are encountering the same error but unfortunately for us even resetting it to the default sitemap using XRMToolbox isn't working.

We even tried updating our production sitemap into sandbox and it still doesn't work.

Is there any other approach we can try ?

We do have the ClickDimensions installed into our CRM. Could that have anything to do with it ?

    Hi

    What is your CRM Version?

Which moment the message appear to you?

Did you tried the same approach described by Guillaume?

    Hi Henrique,

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

We are using Dynamics 365 Online v 9.0.0.2180

We tried the approach mentioned by Guillaume but still getting the same error.

    Try this:

    1. Delete all those Areas using toolbox

    2. Create a 9.0 trial version and save the Site map XML from there using XRM Toolbox.

    3. Add the XML from your 9.0 Trial into your crashed environment.

    Also try this:

    1. Delete all those Areas using toolbox

    2. Click on Update site map button

    3. Reset your sitemap environment to 8.2 as described by Guillaume

    This approach worked. Thanks Henrique.

We tried uploading an xml (with customization) that we had saved earlier but it failed again with the same error.

At this point this was ok since we are just starting to setup the CRM but if down the line we have the same issue we could lose a lot of customization if we can't upload the XML (we were thinking of doing a daily backup of our xml).

Would you have any recommendations/ideas for that ?

Try to upload your XML separately per Area.

    Hi  Palaomo,

I also got same error, nut automatically it got resolved within 15-30 minutes. I assume this is a bug in Dynamics 365 product. Please let me know , how you are able to resolve tthis issue.

    Thanks,

    abhishek
