Expected Cost Posting

So, I've turned on Expected Cost Posting to G/L in Business Central. In the Inventory Setup I've defined the interim inventory account, but the field Invt. Accrual Acc. (Interim) is not available in the Gen Posting Setup. I cannot add it with personalization, either. I found one article that this may need to be added in development, but why? If Expected Cost Posting is available, why does this field not show up? Am I missing something?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Amanda,

Some fields are hidden in Business Central to simplify the interface and make the system easier to use. Unfortunately in the process, there doesn't seem to be logic in what's hidden and what's not.

I appreciate it's frustrating that some fields you use on a daily basis have to be designed into the system. It's a fairly simple thing to do however (I've included a screenshot below). I've added a screenshot of the designer which can be accessed from your sandbox. Let me know if you need help doing this.

    Adam,

I understand that, however the field is not available to add. I have all fields added and that one is not listed.

If you send this page out to Excel with the Edit in Excel icon,  that missing field becomes visible and you can fill it in and then publish the change back into BC.

    Hi Alison,

That's because it can't be added in via personalise, it must be added in using the in-app designer in your sandbox environment. Once added you then need to download the code to build the app before it can be added into the live environment. Let me know if you need any help...

In the October update of Business Central, all previously missing fields will be available, either in the standard view or with the Personalize function.
