Hi All,

I'm trying to find a way how to set a minimum order quantity for sales per item.

How would you fix this without changing the sales unit?

Hi,

I am not aware of achieving this within standard Business Central.

There would have to be some customisation where the minimum order qty is set against the Item Unit of Measure (This would be a new field) and then there would be validation required when the item, unit of measure and quantity have been entered on the sales line.

It would require a customization.

You can write something like below...

begin
if "No." <> '' then begin
MinimumQty := GetMinimumOrderQty("No.");
if "Quantity" < MinimumQty then
Error('Minimum order quantity for %1 is %2. Please increase the quantity.', "No.", MinimumQty);
end;

Why not use the Sales Price Table. If we want to alert the user to a minimum qty of say 5, we set a unit price of £9999999 with the min qty set to zero and then a normal list price and set the min qty to 5. You can also specify different UOM's on this table.

You could also consider using a workflow to restrict user from selling certain item below a qty.
