Lookup Buttons in VST

Hi all

In VST can we tell if a standard GP lookup button has been clicked using the mouse or by a keyboard Ctrl-L?

I have some code that intercepts the customer lookup button on sales transaction entry but when I populate the customer number field on the form I can't consistently leave the focus in the customer name field, a keyboard Ctrl-L leaves the user needing to enter a double tab to move the focus on

Thanks

Matt

I think it's your code which is causing this, what you are doing on lookup button?

    Hi Almas

I have a custom lookup window. I can select a record from it and return it to the main form fine. I want to runvalidate the customer number field and move the focus to customer name

Sounds simple and it should be but the outcome varies depending on whether the lookup button is clicked or Ctrl-L is used on the keyboard!

As you said "I have some code that intercepts the customer lookup button", what I understand is that on Ctl+l  or lookup button click you open your custom lookup window and close gp lookup and return value back from your lookup to GP customer number field. If you are doing so then I think returning value from your lookup is not triggering customer number field change correctly and that's why you are having issues. As when we open lookup we use open lookup return to field, when window return value then change event call for the field. I think you have to force change customer number field to trigger the change event.
