Cases not visible in our instance

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We have been using CRM for a number of years for sales support.  We have been using RMA's, but we want to start using Cases.  However, I cannot find "Case" as an entity on our system, nor is it visible on any area.  How do I enable Cases?

Thank you

We found that the name for Cases had been changed.  So, cases were still present, but we could not find them under that name.  The individual who first set up the system changed the entity name.

Usually Cases are shown under Service Module and If it's not present under customization then i think you must have deleted it. You can log a ticket to MS and get it rectified since you are using an Online instance

I have looked at the site map, and I do see cases there.   The XML code matches what is shown on the default site map.  However, there is no Case visible on the navigation page,  or in Entities under Customization, or in the Security setting.  I have system administrator privileges, so I should be able to see everything in the system.  Is is possible we have deleted the Case entity?

    Download Xrmtoobox from here:

Refer this to customize using sitemap editor.

Can you give me some more information on how to launch the SiteMap Editor?  Thank you

Happened to me as well . You can add it manually using SiteMap Editor with XRMToolbox.

You need to find out if your user has permission to read cases . If yes, the use XrmToolbox Sitemap Editor to check if Cases are present under Services Area. If not then add it
