Account Page Recent Opportunities

Quick disclaimer:  New to CRM, this is my first question, and we're running Dynamics 2013.

On our Account Form we built a sub-grid that shows Recent Opportunities which we define as Opportunities that are open or have been won within the last 12 months.  When on the Account page the Recent Opportunities that I see are the Opportunities related to that particular account.  This is good.  However when I click on the list button (see picture below) to see the view that contains all the Opportunities for that account it takes me to the Recent Opportunities System View - same criteria as mentioned above - but it shows all the Recent Opportunities in our CRM.

How can I see what view is being used on the Account Page because when I click the list button I'm get the Recent Opportunities view and the Account name isn't being passed through?  I know how to look to see what view is being used on the sub-grid but what I can't figure out is why it behaves differently when I'm on the account page.

To say it differently when I click on the button to see all the Opportunities for Company A, I want to see only the Opportunities related to Company A.  I'm currently getting all Opportunities.

    Hi Jason,

You can specify which particular view should be displayed in the subgrid.  You can also specify to show only related records for that selected view.

When you click the list button, it by default shows the Associated view, which only show the associated opportunities.  Now, the filter criteria on this view may be different to the selected view on the subgrid, hence may display a different list.

Another thing to note is that, you can select another view from the list to display.  If you navigate out and come back again, the system shows the recently visited view instead of the associated view.

If you have two different relationships between the two entities, you can have the scenario explained in below article.
