Appointment syncing queries

I've come up with a few questions about how and what syncs when an appointment is updated.

I'm on v9.1 of Dynamics 365 Online and using server-side sync. The filter is the OOB where start and end times contain data, appointment type is not recurring instance and I'm a non-owner Party to the appointment.

Initially appointments sync correctly. However if the start of the appointment is in the past or it ocurring now (not sure which) deleting the appoinment in Dynamics isn't syncing the deletion to Outlook and sending the cancellation emails.

Cancelling an appointment in the future (not deleting but closing it as cancelled) doesn't seem to sync at all to Outlook - I would expect it to cancel the appointment and send cancellation notifications as deleting does.

This might be more Exchange but I'll ask anyway. We have rooms set up as resources in Exchange and Dynamics which we add as required attendees in Dynamics. Removing one room and adding a new one doesn't seem to cancel the old room appointment - this might be because the appointment has already started as above.

Any pointers on this are much appreciated!

Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Is it expected/documented?

    Hi,

I contacted MS support in the end.

The only way to send a cancellation is by deleting the appointment in Dynamics.

They re-added support for rooms but I think I went a different way in the end, using a custom email enabled entity.
