Hello Friends,
May I know the step by step guide how to change Tracking Options for Items from None To "Serial" Or "Batch" or "Batch + Serial" where Inventory has On Hand and and the other Transactions already posted like PO, SO and Inventory.

Thanks much

    Hi Sandip,

Changing the tracking dimension group (e.g., from None to Serial, Batch, or Batch+Serial) after transactions have been posted can be tricky.

Out of the box, you can’t directly change the tracking dimensions if:

    There is on-hand inventory

There are posted transactions like PO/SO or inventory journals

However, there is a useful batch job available under:

Warehouse management > Periodic tasks > Change tracking dimension group for items

    This process works only if:

The item has no on-hand inventory

All inventory transactions are settled and closed

A helpful reference on this is from Gaurav Bharti’s LinkedIn post:

If your item doesn’t meet those conditions, the recommended approach is:

Create a new item with the correct tracking dimension group

Transfer or adjust the inventory to the new item as needed

    Hope this helps!

    Zain
