We have a client with a very large CoA(>100,00 accounts). The third segment is the company segment. There are over 125 companies within this CoA. Some of the company names are rather long(65 characters). Given that GP has a maximum length of 31 characters has anyone come up with a way to get MR 2012 to print the full company name on the reports?

I have the same question (0)Hello Richard,
From what I understand, the third segment is Company. Some of the company names are longer than the 31 character limit that GP allows for an account/segment description. You would like MR to print the full 65-character company name on a report. Unfortunately, MR will not be able to pull data that is not available in GP, but there may be a couple of options you have:
1. In the row definition, enter in the description that you want to display at the Financial level of the report. I believe you can enter up to 255 characters.
2. When designing the report, you could create a reporting tree that groups the similar company segments together. You can then use the additional text area of the tree to output the company name in the header of the report when viewing that reporting unit so the company names do not need to be repeated on each line with the account descriptions.
3. You could also group similar company accounts into different columns in the column definition and use the column header to describe what values are displayed there.
4. Another option might be to enter in a shortened version of the company name into the account/segment description field in GP. This may make reporting more concise and display better on reports without needing to repeat the same company name/description on many lines.
Hope that helps!
