Custom Help Guided Panes - image repository

Hello all,

I am working on Custom Help Panes and Guided Tasks in Dynamics 365 Sales. I want to embed an image but I don't know where to put it to get the URL for the image. For the moment for my proof of concept, I am using YouTube for a video link per the suggested resources in the instructions. But what do I do about images?

We haven't enabled the OneDrive integration yet. Will that be the document and image repository in the future for help topics linked to the Custom Help/Guided Tasks? What do I do in the meantime to give a proof of concept for images?

Thank you in advance!

It has to be publicly available, I've had some issues in the past as well. Let me know if you have more questions! In the meantime can you mark the above answer as verified?

Thank you for the response. I had already read your blog post and several other experts online as I was learning about this feature. Thank you!

I had tried to link an image from a public website into the help, but it didn't display, hence the initial question. I will keep playing with it.

    Hi Kendra,

Videos and images in custom help panes are links to content on the internet. Custom help panes do not store the video and image files in your help pane , they live online. When the help pane with an image or video is opened, the pane bring the content in from the link to display it. You can store your own images on a public facing site and then point to it, you don't have to have one-drive enabled to do this, actually if the image stored on onedrive is not accessible to others, you won't see the image in the help pane.

You can add an image by clicking edit, then insert > image on the top of the help pane and entering the URL of the image. I wrote an article on the topic: https://d365goddess.com/custom-help-panes-and-guided-tasks-for-unified-interface-apps/

PLEASE MARK AS VERIFIED IF HELPFUL
