Would it be a good career path to work with dynamic 365 for operations (dynamic AX) now that it is going to the cloud and getting less technical?

Microsoft has backpedalled a bit with D365 only being in the cloud and are now offering an on premise version.

D365 is definitely the future for AX and would definitely be a good idea. Microsoft is heavily pushing the cloud model and support for AX 2009 is ending soon.

Not only that, but all of Microsoft’s significant resources are mainly being focused on D365 which means AX 2012 will slowly start receiving less and less love.

The logic will still be the same (currently) between AX 2012 and D365. However D365 projects will have much better toolsets and access to much better tools for less technical people.

    Hi Anshul,

Of course, Dynamics 365 is good career path.

D365 is moving towards the integration of internal business processes, and more standardized internal control.

D365FO still provides the On Premise version. Cloud products are the trend of market development, simplifying the implementation and deployment process and improves security. The development direction of things is convenient and humanized, nothing is unchanged, we need to pay attention to the development of emerging things and learn from them.

    Hi Anshul,

Did you have a real question or more statements about what have been changed in your view? For sure, there is a career path. However, the way of creating customizations had been changed and now also Microsoft offers integrations with the Power Platform. This opens other options for both consultants and developers to help customers getting the most possible value out of their investments.

    Hi Andre,

Isn't Power Platform "usually" integrate with D365 CE/CRM part like Field Services etc. ?

There is not much integration between Power Platform and F&O isn't it ? Do you have references for such integration ? As I know now, even the certification relates to Power Platform in Dynamics products is on the CRM part.

Recent being, my self personally like to learn more on this integration.

    Kindly advice,

    Thanks.

I work at Apps4Rent and O365CloudExperts as a CRM expert and so far im satisfied with my job. The logic will still be the same (currently) between AX 2012 and D365. However D365 projects will have much better toolsets and access to much better tools for less technical people.

So for sure definitely get involved!
