GP 2015 freezes when printing Sales Order Long Form

This issue is only happening on new installations of GP. I am sure there is something I am missing. I recently installed GP on the Windows 7 workstation of a new user. Everything worked fine until she went to print a Sales order (Transactions – Sales -  Sales Transaction Entry). I go through the whole process and when she does finally select print, GP 2015 freezes a second and then displays the error "Microsoft Dynamics has stopped working". Interestingly enough, she can print other things like inventory, etc. In fact, I also installed GP on my Windows 10 computer and have the same issue. I thought it might have something to do with Named Printers, so I played around with that on my PC and hers, but that did not help any. Do you have any ideas on what the issue could be? I have the DEXSQL.LOG file I generated on my PC, in case it sheds any light. The printer is actually a copier a Kyocera TaskAlfa 3551. Other users are printing the same form from GP without issues. It happens even if I select print to screen. If I change the form to Short Form, I can print to screen, but it freezes if I click on the Printer option. Below is the trail end of the DEXSQL.LOG file. Anybody have an idea on what may be causing the issue? I didn't install any of the working computers.

    Hi,

    Could you please provide a little more details on you GP 2015 setup ? is the client setup locally or do the users access it from a published app on a RDS or Citrix server ? What about he REPORTS.DIC ? is it shared from a common network folder or if the client is local, the dictionaries are all local too ? Check the DYNAMICS.SET file to figure out if there is any path starting with a network location (\\.. )

    My suggestion to start debugging the issue is to change the default printer to something like a PDF print queue or Microsoft's own XPS format printer queue..  You say other users don't have an issue with printing the 'long' format of the SOP Blank Form.. My feeling is that something might be corrupted within this report when attempting to use the Kyorcera printer driver..

                    Thanks for your prompt reply. Fortunately, I was able to find the issue. After comparing the two machines, I found that the Reports.dic was in fact slightly different. On a hunch, I copied this file over and the report printed fine. Hopefully others find this helpful if and when they run into the same issue. My predecessor apparently had a different copy of this file in a different location. I however, kept installing GP based on the instructions I was left with. I now know that this file has to be updated on any new install I perform. Thank you so very much for your feedback. Had I seen it in time, it would have helped immensely. Appreciate it.

    There are indeed some recommended best-practices out there about the location of the dictionaries and the customization..

    Read this article about managing the customization and dictionaries, and even if the  post is 10 years old, it still fully applies on today's GP setup.
