We are on GP2016 R2. I am testing changing from 13 periods (period 13 is the last day of the fiscal year) to 12 periods. There are only a few entries in the 13th period and the majority of those were reversed out.
Is there any reason to change every year (from 1999) or should we just change the last few years? We want to change at least the last five years so we can use the same formula in Management Reporter for open and historical years. Also, the instructions say to reconcile AP and AR, but it is not clear as to what years need to be reconciled and if they need to be reconciled at all if the year end date is not changing. Since we have 47 companies, many since 1999 the quantity of reconciles I have to run can make a huge difference in how time consuming this project is.
One more question – I have seen instructions that say you must use PSTL to change the fiscal year info for closed years, but it allowed me to change them without using PSTL. Is that because I did not change the date the year ended on? If I end up only changing the last 5 years, I would prefer not to use PSTL as that will require me to recreate every fiscal year.
Thanks!
Marilyn
