Need Advice: Contact Types or Relationships

I'm trying to decide which route to go. The simple structure is, I have houses. For those houses I have a tenant, an owner and a property manager. These are key pieces of info that could potentially drive lookup views, reports, and many other processes. Should I create a custom field on the contact that stores these and other roles or should I use the built in relationships feature? Would love to hear your opinions.

    Dear Five1j,

You better to use OOB relationship features as it will help for your future enhancements.

    Hi,

Surely you can use the existing relationship type for this categorizations, no need to create custom field. you can rename of the options/field name based on your requirements.

    Thanks

    Hi Five

    Both are correct.

But if you use the existing relationship you just need to configure and add the master data.

You can also using connection role as well.

But for report purposes, i feel new field or new lookup field to another entity is easier to do query.

But for the UI connecting them using relationship will of course easier.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
