CRM software system for field service company - Fire safety

We are a SME working in the pre-planned maintenance of fire systems.

We invested in  "out of the box" software used in the field service industry aimed at Electrical, Fire Safety and security companies. It start with new leads, quotes, apps for the mobile engineers, tracking, asset control all the way through to invoicing and reports. It is almost impossible to change parts of the software to suit how we operate. Is this the time to see what's available in the market place?

There are areas of  the software that are long winded, sometimes we have to create spreadsheets (for example when we schedule jobs etc)  and then add back to the scheduling in the software.

We currently spend approx £12,000 pa on the software.

We have looked at salesforce and have found the software price 3-4 times more expensive than we currently pay - so out of our reach. The disappointing fact is they  don't seem to cater for the SME markets. We have office 365 so do MS have something we can look at that may fulfill our needs?

I did look at MS approx 8 years ago and like Salesforce also very expensive - maybe things have changed since then.

I have the same question (0)

Price depends on how many users need to access the system. "pa" means annually correct? that is £1,000 per month, meaning it covers around 6/7 Field Service users (I am not a license expert and I don't know the exact price for your market) and you need to consider the money (or time) to implement the changes your actual system does not provide.

    hope it helps

You will also need to consider all costs to implement/customize.  It will be best if you have your business processes VERY defined so you can then sit with a potential developer to find out what can be done OOB vs will require some customization.

I also highly recommend doing this with at least two but preferably three potential implementation companies so you can compare and determine who would be the best fit (aka, who knows their stuff, whose lying to you, etc.)

Dynamics has definitely become more economical as the SaaS model has (sadly to some) become popular...and I think it is infinitely customizable to meet your processes/needs.

However, development will be expensive if you need a lot of it to get you where you want.  Most companies I've heard from work on implementations that START at about $80K.  One company I heard from had some "packedged customizations" as a start but even those were $10K+.

For me I've got development experience and trying to do as much as possible OOB but have start to run into stuff that was sadly not built into the product.

    Hi Mike,

I hope you have found your alternative, if not, have a look at Maplytics by Inogic. It is a location-based add-on to Microsoft Dynamics 365 and comes at extremely competitive prices with a good ROI and value for money. The Auto Scheduling feature of Maplytics can help you in planning maintenance of fire systems for days/weeks in advance. Shortest or Fastest optimized routes to the client companies can be plotted with turn-by-turn navigation directions using Route Optimization. Once scheduled, the appointments get automatically added to the Outlook Calendars of the stakeholders, and the routes can be viewed on Google Maps/ Waze App/ Apple Maps, or emailed or printed.

Maplytics is an all-inclusive application that directly interacts with the data of the user’s CRM and plots the records geographically making decision-making quicker and easier. It is not only adored by multi-national clients but is a favorite among SMEs as well. You can explore the application further with a 15-day free trial offered by the team and also connect with the team at crm@inogic.com for queries.

    Thanks,
    Sam
