Hi,

I am having difficulties connecting my .onmicrosoft.com account to crm online, with the Dynamics CRM for Outlook 2013 plugin.

After having clicked "Test connection" and verified that I want to connect to "Contoso" organization I get following error:
There is a problem communicating with the Microsoft Dynamics CRM server. The server might be unavailable. Try again later. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator.

Following is a snip of the error log:

I simply want to test the plugin alongside Outlook 2013 on my onmicrosoft environment.

Hi sasuh, Please check your plugin is a sandbox plugin and also check your date time with the CRM online date time.

    hth.

    Thanks,

    Saroj

I've downloaded the CRM Plugin from CRM Online (when prompted that plugin for Outlook is available) and Thus shouldn't be a sandbox, but how else to check?

I am unable to set System settings date/time, I am though able to change my personal date/time settings.

Hello sasuh, in online CRM go to setting (gear Icon on right), and there select Options. In Set Personal Options Dialog select Format Tab. Check there the Date time. and the time zone should be your Timezone. you can not change date time there. So change your date time as per that and check. This might help.

    Thanks,

    Saroj

Following are the settings I've configured:

    General
    formats.png5710.error.png

    Formats

My computer's date/time is set accordingly. I am still unable to connect to CRM online:

Hi, if I may know which CRM Online instance region are you on? From the screenshot it seems you are on Denmark, it should be EMEA region.

From the error log that you attached in the first post, it seems you are trying to connect to US CRM Online instance: disco.crm.dynamics.com/.../Discovery.svc

    The EMEA one is:

    disco.crm4.dynamics.com/.../Discovery.svc

I am on the EMEA instance. When logging in to CRM through the portal I see that am redirected from "emea-url" to "[tenant].crm4.dynamics.com".

How do I then get my CRM plugin to connect to crm4?

hi sasuh, could you please do one thing do not sync the time with online server. and what ever is your local system time, just increase 5 minutes more and then try to connect. And do not make delay. Please try this and let me know. This kind of problem we have already faced. And we did the same to solve this.

    Thanks

    Saroj

I did as you advised but still receive error. Still tries to connect to US CRM Online:

09:45:31|  Error| Error connecting to URL: disco.crm.dynamics.com/.../Discovery.svc Exception: System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityAccessDeniedException: Access is denied.

Hi sasuh, which version of Outlook plugin that you are using? Is this the one that you are using: www.microsoft.com/.../confirmation.aspx

Btw, based on the error log it seems to be related to this article czerw.wordpress.com/.../crm-client-for-outlook-configuration-issues

Thanks for sharing Andre, but that did not solve the problem.

When downloading the Sign-In assistant, install wizard prompts me that I already have a later version (7.250.4556.0).

And yes, I am using the Outlook plugin that you linked to. I've tried that one, and the one downloaded from the CRM Online site.
