Hey Guys
For a customer we are facing the following challenge.
When running Master Planning, We want to deliver 5 warehouses from a Distribution Center DC Warehouse, so the default order type should be Transfer Order.
But the problem is, we want to create transfer order, only if there is on hand inventory in the DC warehouse. For example, if we have some requirement in warehouse A, and there no hand inventory in the DC Warehouse to satisfy this requirement, the MRP should suggest a purchase order in warehouse A.
Also there should not only be distribution from the DC to the warehouses, but also between the warehouses themselves should be enabled. For example a scenario where there is no more stock of an item in the DC, but in some other warehouses there is more stock than the minimum safety requires. Then a planned transfer order from the warehouses with surplus stock to the warehouse with a stock deficit should be suggested via MRP.
Is it possible to run this scenario with standard AX.
Thank you.
Ahmed.

I have the same question (0)It is not possible to create a dynamic stock replenishment network where you have 6 potential supply sites and if one falls below safety stock then any of the other 5 can replenish. The AX model is a fixed supply chain. You can of course overwrite this, but the system cannot plan in the manner you want, there is a replenishment rule set to create the transfer order as you have seen from your comment.
With regards to your DC again this would be a manual change, if the PO is on DC and there is no stock on DC you change the supply to A and planning will realign, it cannot as standard have a rule that purchases into DC unless there is no stock then go direct to the warehouse. I would question if you have a good planning horizon and sensible safety stocks how often it would happen.
