cannot track email in outlook, error msg

Hi, any help would be appreciated!

Been using CRM Online for awhile now.  Had a new problem show up this week that I haven't seen before.  Whenever I try to track an email (or anything else for that matter) in Outlook I get the following error (after waiting for about 30 seconds):

An unknown error occurred while synchronizing data to Outlook.ItemName=subject of email

I have tried it with many different emails and I get the same message.  When trying to tag existing tasks I get a permissions error, odd considering my user is the System Admin:

An error occurred promoting this item to Microsoft Dynamics CRM.  The Microsoft Dynamics CRM server could not be contacted or the user has insufficient permissions to perform this action.

If anyone could provde some pointers I would be in your debt.

    I have also tried to uninstall and reinstall the CRM Outlook plugin but no luck, same errors.

    Curt. We are having the same issue. We have ticket # 112091470627187 open with MS and have been troubelshooting for a couple days.

    Not sure what you did but it suddenly works now! :)  This has to be the most frustrating part of CRM Online, every couple of weeks something completely new comes up that often times just "fixes itself."

    I am using Office 365 (so yes exchange) and the subjects are never blank.

    and i spoke too soon, same error is back.  Infuriating.

    Hi Curt,

    I would recommend reviewing the email that is displaying issues. Also, go to Start| All Programs| Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011| Diagnostics. Click the tracing box and Save. Try to track this and then go to %Userprofile% \Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\MSCRM\Traces. Open up this location and search both logs for : Error. Paste those errors here. The CRMAddin log might also tell you exactly what is missing from this email causing the issue.

    Our users have had similar experiences. It will give us that error and then just magically "fix itself." It's difficult to fix it when it's inconsistent, but I'm confident it isn't permission issue with their security role. Did you ever find a solution?
