Record Fixed Assets without posting in GL

Dear All,

Is it possible to run all the activities within FA module without posting in GL?

Meaning Acquisition, Depreciation, Disposal.. all activities but without postings on main accounts. I have checked that there is "Post to general ledger" on the FA books configuration and if I choose "No" and try to acquire some FA that belongs to this book again system ask for posting profile configuration where we need to setup debit account..

Any idea.

I wonder why it needs to be done

depreciation should reflect in GL

If it is checking purpose only then could disable post to GL

Hi Rahul,

We need to have record for assets that don't need to affect GL, meaning our regular FA's are on different book. New FA's will be on new book and activities related to them should't create any posting on main account. Not sure if this is possible. Just to keep record without accounting impact.

Hi Bojan,

You can achieve what you want in an easier way, by using posting layers you can have different depreciation there and even when the system will create ledger transactions they won't be on the same layer, so this is actually not affecting your accounting, see below link for more details
