Data migration from AX 2012 to D365FO -BI/SSRS

Hi,

Our customer would like to use D365FO (they are at AX 2012 R3). They prefer a new implementation rather than upgrade.

However they would like to keep their data and reports. It means they require a data migration from AX 2012 R3 to D365FO, especially the reports. I was told there are two options in D365FO: BYOD (Azure SQL) and data lake. But I am not sure how to migrate the AX 2012 R3 report data to D365FO BYOD.

Any suggestion?

Thanks,

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Yuji,

Interesting that you want to keep the old documents and not using the much nicer and easier to handle business documents.

Have you taken a look at the following functionality?

    docs.microsoft.com/.../er-business-document-management

Before migrating the old 'stuff', I would recommend at least having a look at this new design functionality.

I think it is worth moving away from the 'old' SSRS reports but this is something only you can assess in this case.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    HI Yuji,

You can use code upgrade tool to complete a whole solution

    docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-execute-code-upgrade

But, for reports, re-creating may be more convenient.
