We have an issue at one of our customers related to the export to Excel and Outlook function in NAV 2017. The customer has different Desktop running NAV2017, but only 2 of them have this issue.
When the user wants to export a list page or a custom made report to Excel he gets the error that NAV is not able to create an instance of the office interop dll. This error also appears when using the outlook function for sending sales order confirmations. As mentioned only 2 pc's are affected by this error, all others work fine.
It is rather strange that sometimes the export does work for a couple of days and suddenly it stops working. Without doing anything it will work in a couple of days.
It looks like the problem is caused by updates to either Windows or Office and the dll gets blocked for some reason.
